Help! Have been searching high-and-low. i don't mind seeing them CUT-In-TWO and buying/using the correct splice-kit
if it helps in the UPS "shipping/freight" dept. Have new system components arriving almost daily and NO WAY to CORRECTLY mount
my 6 new 240w Astronergy panels . . .
Does The Solar Panel store expect to stock these anytime soon?
Worst case scenario? Drive to ur Colorado store and spend a few days *achm rather than FREIGHT CHARGES* skiing in Aspen/Vail to boot?
I am a HOMEOWNER, not a business, and NO WONDER more people back in the panel starved South-East US (Georgia) can't DIY Green !

So you have (6) 240W panels, we can certainly help you mount those. Up to now, we haven't seen the appeal of the I beam products for residential use, and they have changed this product several times since it came out. Initially the span ratings were very low, maybe they have improved that. Do you have to use the I beams? What lengths of rail do you really want? Feel free to contact info@cosolar.com or 970-984-3750 and we can quote something delivered. I would suggest waiting a bit for a ski trip - not much snow yet.

what typical and general length of rail required to fit 240w panels primarily for commercial refrigeration design company system?

Hi
For the Snap N Rack rails we normally use, the 122" are good for 3 panels, and the 162" are good for 4 panels. So you would probably want (4) 122" rails for 6 panels (sold in sets of 2, so you would want 2 sets of 2). You could arrange the panels as 2 sets of 3, or if you want a continuous row of 6 you can get 2 splice plates.
Or if it had to ship UPS we could provide 6 @ 81", made by cutting 3 168" pieces.
Most professionals do use the engineered aluminum systems like Snap N Rack, for lots of reasons, but people do also use UniStrut, or drilled aluminum angle plus stainless nuts and bolts.
