This OutBack GVFX3648 Vented, Grid-Tie 48V 3.6kW 120VAC inverter is an excellent grid-interactive with battery back up 48V inverter/charger rated for 3500 continuous watts. The GVFX unit is vented, which means no fan failure and quiet operation, but may not be the best choice for a marine or extreme environment. Please contact us for a quote if you think a sealed inverter suits your application better.
With the OutBack grid-interactive system, backup AC power is made available 24 hours a day in the event of a utility outage (assuming proper system design), providing reliable power and peace-of-mind. At night, the inverter's automatic power save mode ensures that energy is not wasted by needlessly charging your batteries from the utility grid.
The VFX Series Inverter/Charger offers a complete power conversion system-DC to AC, battery charging, and an AC Transfer Switch—and can be used for stand-alone or back-up applications.
Note: Neither the GTFX nor the GVFX is designed to be used with a generator. They are strictly for grid-interactive usage. An OutBack MATE is required to program the FXs beyond their default values.
