Trojan T-105 Battery

Batteries are the lifeblood to your battery-based solar PV system--no matter the size. Often people are surprised to learn that batteries are the most expensive part of their off-grid solar PV system. So making the right choice is a big deal. Whether you need a single battery to run a small remote sensor or 24 6V batteries for your off-grid home, we can steer you to right battery.

There are so many choices to make when investing in a battery or battery bank. Let us help! These days there is a lot of hype about solar energy storage and battery systems that look like they came from a shiny, cool Apple Store! At the end of the day, you need a battery or battery bank that will do the right job for you, day in, day out for as long a period as possible.

We start with quality brand batteries. The quality of the plates, casing, and construction decreases as the price point falls. Not everyone wants or needs the best, so we try to offer a variety to suit your needs. Brands include Trojan, Rolls, Interstate, Full River, SunXtender, Powersonic, Dekka, Smart Battery and more.

Lead-acid or not? Flooded or sealed? Lithium? Decisions, decisions. All are common in solar PV systems, but some are better suited for certain types than others. If you want to keep the price as low as possible for your off-grid home, flooded lead acid is very common. If regularly maintaining electrolyte/water levels is impossible for that battery bank on a mountain peak radio tower, then a sealed lead-acid AGM would be just the ticket. If you want low maintenance, lightweight and regularly run your off-grid boondocking RV solar system, then a sweet lithium bank may be in order.

The size of the battery bank and the battery itself are very important! We start by understanding the loads you are trying to power, look at voltage and then come up with the right design for you. And if you're just looking for 1 or 2 batteries, we need to consider the battery box and pick the right size case.
